Cy-Fair Sports Association is a volunteer-based organization offering baseball, basketball, cheerleading, football, lacrosse, soccer, and wrestling for students in grades K-6. Additionally, its community programs provide meals on weekends, homework help, mentorship opportunities, counseling support, and recreation services to young athletes in our region. CFSA stands as one of the area’s largest organizations.

History

Cy-Fair Sports Association (CFSA) is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization offering children in grades K-2 flag football and three through six-year-old tackle football programs, plus baseball, cheerleading, basketball, soccer, wrestling, and lacrosse. Established in the early 1970s and now boasting more than 200 volunteers on any given day – this organization stands on the principle that without volunteers, youth sports programs would not exist in a community. Established as the largest league in Houston and one of the fastest-growing youth sports organizations nationwide with an annual budget of $2 Million and over 200 volunteers every day!

Rules

CFSA’s growth and success are directly tied to community support. A 100% volunteer organization, its mission is to give children the chance to participate in eight sports: baseball, basketball, cheerleading, football, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. Children grades K-2 compete in flag football, while third through sixth graders participate in tackle football. In addition to these sports programs, there are other offerings designed to stimulate children physically, socially, and emotionally, as well as providing opportunities for competition, exercise, personal satisfaction, and fun!

Berry Center and Ken Pridgeon stadiums do not allow visiting team fans to sell items within their stadiums; all food and beverages must be purchased through concession stands within these venues.

Equipment

CFSA Football players compete in two divisions: flag football for children in grades K-2 and tackle football for students in third through sixth grade. This volunteer-run league depends on over 200 active volunteers to operate; its president states this figure and estimates its annual budget at about $2 Million, with 1,200 children involved from baseball to cheerleading activities offered each season.

All mascots, drill teams, and bands entering Cy-Fair FCU Stadium or Ken Pridgeon Stadium through the Band/Drill Gates located between gates 6 & 7 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium or Berry Center stadium’s Northside (scoreboard) may park and warm up only in designated Band/Drill parking area and must obtain approval by the home team before using props during games.

The 2023 Varsity Football season will kick off August 24 at Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union Stadium at Berry Center and Ken Pridgeon Stadium and is set to conclude December 16th with a live broadcast of games through NFHS Network.
